We at the Downtown Market intend to provide you with information to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. We are committed to creating the most accessible experience we can for our impaired patrons. Please see the information below or stop by the Administration Office on the second floor if you have any questions.

Where is the elevator?

The elevator is centrally located near the main entrance to the building. It has both north and south opening doors (first floor only).

Where are the handicapped parking spots?

There are seven handicap accessible parking spots, which are located directly to the west of the building, adjacent to the wheelchair ramp.

Is there a wheelchair available to the public?

Yes. A wheelchair is available for check out at the Administration Office, second floor. Please call 616-805-5308 if you need someone to bring it to you on the first floor.

Do you utilize a "Hearing Loop" system?

There is a Hearing Loop system installed in our Banquet Room. It can be utilized during events for those who are hearing-impared.

Where is the wheelchair ramp for the main entrance?

The wheelchair ramp is located to the west of the patio on the north side of the building.

Where do I go for first aid?

First aid kits are located throughout the building. Please see the Administration Office located on the second floor for assistance.

What is your policy on service animals in the market?

Only service animals are permitted inside the Market. Non-service animals are welcome at our outdoor public events and inside the Market Shed.

Where are the handicap accessible restrooms?

Handicap accessible bathrooms are located on the second floor across from the Administration Office.

Are there any convenient bus stops near the Market?

The Market is located near Rapid bus stops on routes 1, 2, and the Silver Line.

Are thresholds and doorways wheelchair accessible?

All doorways incorporate a low threshold for convenience.

Are the emergency alarms accommodating for the seeing/hearing impaired?

All emergency alarms have both visual and audio signals.
