This year, the Grand Rapids Downtown Market is hosting its annual fall fundraiser for the Downtown Market Education Foundation on October 12 from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.

The “Small Plates, Big Impact” fundraiser, benefiting the Downtown Market Education Foundation’s culinary nutrition and entrepreneur programs, will take place in the Market Hall. Tickets include libations and a strolling dinner throughout the Market Hall featuring exclusive small plate dining experiences from various Market vendors along with discounted shopping.

From an exclusive sponsor lounge and silent auction, to an after party with live music from BareNaked 90’s in the second floor banquet room, “Small Plates, Big Impact” will be an engaging event for food lovers and friends, where guests will be able to interact with small business owners and taste their creative food offerings.

The Downtown Market Education Foundation is a non-profit organization offering culinary and nutritional education, entrepreneur opportunities and a place for local food production, with the goal of creating a healthier community. The organization supports access to, and promotion of, fresh, healthy foods for all.

“Everything the Education Foundation does is centered around the goal of bettering our community in a healthy way and providing tools to those within it who want to grow and learn,” said Mimi Fritz, president and CEO of the Downtown Market. “Proceeds from this event will help impact programs such as greenhouse field trips, classes on nutrition and meal planning and business startup essentials.”
