What are your holiday hours?

The Downtown Market is open 362 days a year! We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Is there an ATM at the Market?

Yes, the ATM is located outside on the front terrace, next to the main entrance.

Are there areas to store my bags while I shop?

We encourage you to bring shopping bags (reusable of course), as there are no food lockers at the Market. We do have small shopping carts and baskets you can use.

Where can I sit, relax, kick up my heels and eat?

Head upstairs to the second floor. We have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Where are the restrooms?

Both the men’s and women’s restrooms are located on the second floor.

Do you accept food assistance programs?

Yes, we do! Eligible outdoor vendors accept the following forms of food assistance: SNAP/EBT/Bridge Cards, WIC (coupons only), Senior Project Fresh, and Double Up Food Bucks.  

Eligible indoor tenants accept, or will soon be accepting, SNAP/EBT/Bridge Cards. Field & Fire, Relish Green Grocer, Love's Ice Cream, and Aperitivo currently accepts food assistance.

Where can I park?

The Downtown Market has its own parking lot.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes; we currently offer $10 and $25 denominations that can be used at the outdoor market, indoor market, or towards classes and merchandise. They're available for purchase at our Market administrative office, over the phone, or online.

Are you hiring?

Any available employment opportunities (for the Market or any of our tenants) are posted on our Facebook page as well as on our website.

How can I become a volunteer?

We love volunteers. You can find these opportunities on our website

How do I find out more about leasing a space for my retail shop, restaurant, or office?

Just call! We will put you in touch with the right person. But please keep in mind that all tenants must be culinary, health, wellness, or agricultural related. We are a Market after all!

Do you have parking spaces that are accessible?

You better believe it! Handicap parking/access is located along the west side of the building. There are additional ramps at the north end of the Market Shed, off Ionia near the Terrace, between the north terrace and parking lot, and near the west entrance.

Do you have bike racks?

Bike racks are located next to the building on Ionia Avenue and along the west side of the building.

Where does the bus stop?

The Rapid Transit bus system has a stop on Ionia near the parking lot entrance. It won't be long and the BRT will stop just a block away, straight up McConnell Street on Division. Learn more here.

Do you have a waiting list for classes?

Yes, we do. And we're very prompt in getting in touch with you if there is a cancellation.

If I rent a space, do I have to bring my own A/V?

Our conference rooms, banquet space, and teaching kitchen offer state of the art A/V systems to suit any events' needs. Microphones, smart TV's, built in sound and projection, and full wireless connectivity are only some of the options available.

How can I book my event at the Market?

We recommend that you contact us for a visit, and  we’ll tour you around our spaces. We’ll even help you determine what area works best for you. From there, we will answer any and all questions and provide you with additional information to confirm the details. Click here.

How do I know there will be enough parking for my guests?

Our parking lot is available for rent by individual space or block of spaces. We also offer valet services for clients who would like their guests to have curbside service.

Can I rent space in the greenhouse to grow my own products?

Not at this time. We use the greenhouse space to grow products for our tenants, and some of the plants are sold at Relish Green Grocer in the Market Hall.

Do you allow events in the Greenhouse?

We do! Our Greenhouse is a year-round event space. How cool is that?

Do you allow filming or photography shoots at the Market?

All filming or photography must be pre-approved and should not interfere with market business, traffic, or the public's enjoyment of the market. Click here for guidelines and the application form.
